I had a very disappointing and frustrating experience at Hotel Baltschug Kempinski Moscow. I was charged twice for a dinner bill – once by room service and again at checkout. The room service staff confirmed to the front desk that I had already paid, yet the reception refused to refund me, claiming I still owed the amount. What’s worse is that they had no proof whatsoever that I hadn’t paid. Despite this, they continued to delay and argue, clearly trying to stall me until I left the hotel without my money. I provided verbal confirmation, proof of payment, and I even have a photo of the staff member involved – still, they kept my money. I asked them to check the security cameras, which would have easily proven I had paid. Instead of doing so, they deliberately delayed me for nearly an hour, pretending they were looking into it — but they never actually checked the footage. It was clearly a tactic to wear me down until I gave up and left. This was not a misunderstanding – it felt like a calculated attempt to take advantage of a guest. It’s shocking to see this kind of behavior from a hotel that presents itself as a luxury establishment. They acted with no transparency, no accountability, and no respect. I urge anyone considering this hotel: keep all receipts, record your transactions, and double-check your final bill. I trusted them, and they exploited that trust. Never again.

This is the second time I have stayed here. The first time was better. The rooms are getting a little tired and could do with a refresh. They are starting to show their age. The staff are great and beds are super comfortable.

This is one of the best hotels in Moscow and the view from the library room is second to none. The more I visit the more I fall in love with this hotel.
